Last night at the Super Bowl the power went out
Great jokes were made online
E.g., jokes about the super villain Bane, because of the recent movie The Dark Knight Rises, which included an attack on a football stadium
“Is it fucked up that when the power went out I was excited that something fucked up might happen?” someone said
Like what? Like a terrorist attack?
No, I don’t think it’s fucked up to want things to happen
For too long nothing has happened
When we went to see The Dark Knight Rises there was extra security
Because somebody had shot people in a different theater a day before
In The Dark Knight, the Joker’s rhetoric at times strikes me as frighteningly apt
Like when he talks about Plans & how people seem to need one
I do not currently have a Plan
I am going to live day by day & try to avoid dying meaninglessly
Whether by terrorist attack or otherwise
Online I read the Unabomber’s manifesto
It was titled “Industrial Society & Its Future”
& the rhetoric struck me as frighteningly apt
It called for a change in Society’s Plan
It questioned Progress
The Unabomber killed three people
It’s not frightening to empathize with the Unabomber’s manifesto
If you know what ‘ad hominem’ means
Which I do
My Twitter avatar has an “A” covering the mouth & nose;
I think it looks like Bane, his mask in The Dark Knight Rises
I think it looks cool

I want to be famous for being famous, like Paris Hilton
I want to be a famous internet user, gathering ‘likes’ like cute cat JPEGS
When you see that something has very many ‘likes’
Your interpretation of that thing changes
There is an aura, like Goku has in Dragon Ball Z
If you have studied psychology, you already know this:
That people are gullible & wont to conform
That you are gullible & wont to conform
It’s okay; I am too
I clicked ‘like’ on that cat .jpg too
I am only human
& know: that a highly cultivated alternative, nonconformist personality is itself a generic personality in 2013
Wow, what a conundrum
To try to be yourself in 2013
It takes a lot more work than you’d expect
I expect
1/100
You don’t like your job very much & I quit mine
I have a preternatural hatred of jobs; I can’t help it
I work hardest on things that aren’t jobs, that don’t produce money, like my Twitter game
I think this is an example of how I am a certain type of person
I am the type of person who likes Luigi but not Mario
Green & not Red
An example of how I am a bad person is that I can be lazy and careless
I don’t always try my hardest
I have liked your shirt without taking the effort to say aloud to you ‘Nice shirt’
& I have disregarded friends’ invitations to just hang out
Because I enjoy being alone sometimes & reading novels & philosophy books
Enjoying being alone too much is an example of a bad trait, I think
Because it’s bad to not enjoy the company of people
It’s bad to not appreciate people’s willingness to be with you
It’s bad to not appreciate things in general, like food
I will list everything that is Good or Bad, and then you and I will know how to live, from this list:
Work is bad
OR: Jobs are bad
But working, the activity, is good
Or something like that
Pizza is good
Money is bad because it abstracts something, ‘value’ maybe, in a shifty & not entirely clear way
Etc.
I have never cared about people’s tastes in music or film
Except insofar as it informs their worldview
In fact I have never truly cared about people’s opinions regarding anything
Except insofar as they are willing to claim it as part of their entire worldview
Because I am an All or Nothing thinker, baby
